How Can I Help?
We Need Your Help! As is the case for the majority of volunteer organizations, we are constantly in the process of recruitment and training new patrollers and observers. There is a direct relationship between number of staff and our capacity to successfully fulfill our mandate to reduce the amount of crime in our community. If you can spare 3 hours once a month you can make a difference in your community!
As Patroller. This involves 2-3 hours per month. You will travel with a partner in a private vehicle equipped with a car-top sign, a cell phone and emergency kit, all provided at our headquarters. Fuel costs for your vehicle are tax deductible. As Spare Patroller. You will occasionally stand in for a regular patroller who is not available that month as scheduled and you are. As Observer. You will be vigilant to observe and report anything suspicious whenever you are driving your car within the Edwards-Metcalfe Watch area. You will keep a notepad with relevant phone numbers in your car for this purpose. You will also display an Edwards-Metcalfe Watch decal on your car so as to provide valuable publicity.
